Who will want to see in it a youth
Beauty joined with chastity,
Humble sweetness, grave majesty,
All virtues, and all kindness:
Who will want to see the eyes of a Goddess,
Majesty
And in our years the only novelty,
And this Lady glances at the beauty,
Let the vulgar call my mistress.
He will learn how Love laughs and bites,
As he heals, as he gives death,
Majesty
Then he will say, what strange news!
From the sky the earth borrowed its beauty,
The earth in heaven has now taken away,
Beauty itself, having something so beautiful.
